Larry Calof
The polar bear story is a bittersweet one. Says Atherton photographer Larry Calof, "The opportunity to see and photograph the polar bears in their natural habitat was, for me, an amazing experience - but the effect in the arctic of global warming is dramatic. The sea ice, on which the bears depend for their ability to hunt, is rapidly decreasing, and there are no good solutions thus far to the problem. It may be that in a decade or two, there will be few bears left."
Consequently, Larry has decided to donate a portion of the profits from sales of his polar bear images to organizations that are currently working to solve this problem. Before looking through the camera lens, Larry Calof was a highly successful M&A lawyer working of a Bay Area law firm.
